New Title: SHR for Dixie!

Well the UKC has kept better score than I have–in finalizing her registration they had all her passes on file, enough to be awarded the Started Hunting Retriever title!? Since we don’t have an official picture, attached is a shot from this past winter training.?? Yay Dixie!?? She is on her way to achieving the Junior title so stay tuned for more good news.

New Toller Litter

On June 8th Dixie whelped a fine litter of seven puppies.   We chose to breed Dixie(click link to see her info) with a nice young dog named Roscoe(AKC GCH NSDTRC-US CH Vermilion’s Ram’nJam’n Rosco of TNT CD RN WCI CGC).  He has multiple honorifics, including being awarded Best Puppy at last year’s Toller National Specialty, and a Grand Champion at just over two years old.  He is actively used for hunting and is a titled retriever.  What attracted us most to Roscoe was his pedigree.  I have trained quite a few dogs from his lines and want the easy, confident, trainable dogs from his lines coming from our kennel too.

Both parents are health tested and their results can be found on the OFA database, located on their website.   Please call for details as to the extensive health and temperament testing our breeding dogs undergo. All puppies will go home wormed and with their first set of vaccinations.   All puppies also undergo vigorous temperament testing to make sure the pup you take home has the best start possible and has the potential to do the job you have in mind.  Dixie has produced some very fine, naturally birdy pups, many will retrieve live birds at 7 weeks old.  See some photos of puppies from Dixie’s past litters here.

We expect these pups to be suitable for hunting, performance, and very active pet homes.    As always, you are welcome to come out and meet our Tollers if you are unsure as to if they are right for you.  Remember, they are not SUPPOSED to be a downsize from Labs or Goldens, as they tend to be higher in energy and intensity.  With training and maturity, however, we feel they are are a quieter, more independent dog in the house than any other retriever breed.  If you are interested in a puppy from this litter please fill out and send us a puppy buyer questionnaire, and give us a call.
